There could be several reasons why YouTube.com is blocked on your device. A network administrator or an ISP has blocked your access to YouTube, or there could be a government-led country-wide blocking. In this Speed.is article we will show you how to unblock Youtube on your mobile phone or computer.
Use a YouTube proxy site
A proxy site acts as a gateway between a user and the Internet. Instead of your IP address, the destination website sees the proxy site’s IP address. If you do not wish to download an app or pay for any subscription, the best way to unblock YouTube is by using a third-party YouTube proxy.
Croxyproxy.com
- Open a browser and type https://croxyproxy.com in the address bar.
- Enter youtube.com in the search box and click Go!
- You will be redirected to the proxied YouTube website.
It has a Premium Ad-free access that costs $3.50/month and allows you to pick servers from the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, and more countries. However, we recommend purchasing a VPN instead.
Other similar YouTube proxy sites are YoutubeUnblocked.live and UnblockYoutube.co.
Security warning: It is not recommended to log in to your YouTube account when using these YouTube proxy sites as your account may get compromised. You can use a proxy site to watch videos temporarily. But if you are looking for a permanent solution, skip to option 2.
These sites are prone to domain changes, and blockades, and since there are no one or two most popular YouTube proxy site options, we will keep updating this list with the ones that are currently working properly.
Use a VPN
When you use a virtual private network (VPN) you can select a server location of your choice that way all your internet requests are channeled through the selected server. If you are located in the United States and connect to a VPN server in Toronto, Canada, all the websites you visit will see that the request is made from Toronto, Canada. So if there is a site blockade in the United States, you can connect to another country’s server and you will be able to access the site without any restriction.
Some of the popular VPN services are NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and SurfShark.
Since these VPN companies are licensed and regulated, you can use these services for a long time. Although they can be trusted for accessing restricted sites, we do not recommend carrying out sensitive activities such as online banking and sharing of private files. Using a VPN for purposes of accessing restricted sites is fine.
Contact your network administrator
Schools and workplaces may put a restriction on using YouTube when you are logged in through their email address or device.
If you receive a “Sorry, you can’t access YouTube with your Google Account. Your access has been restricted by your administrator.” error, sign out of your YouTube account and try again.
If you are unable to sign out from YouTube, try to sign out from other Google products such as Gmail or Google Maps, which will automatically sign you out of YouTube.
You may also try to clear cookies and site or app data to sign out from YouTube. However, when possible, it is recommended to contact your domain administrator and let them know you would like to add YouTube as a service.
If you are unable to access youtube.com at your home, check if you have an active internet connection, check the cables, and restart your routers or modems. If this doesn’t fix your issue, contact your Internet service provider for support.
